Cartridges

Filtering cartridges in fiberglass or stainless steel to filter the wine. They are used in couple with the Tandem or Tandem Professional filter cartridge holder.

Beverage

Fiberglass or stainless steel filter cartridges, to be inserted inside the Tandem Professional filter holder, allow you to filter various types of liquid products, even hot ones.

Available in glass fiber or steel, with different degrees of filtration:

  • fibreglass cartridges available with filtration from 0.2 - 0.5 - 1 and 50 micron;
  • stainless steel filter cartridges are available with filtration degree from 5 - 10 or 50 microns

They filter the product without altering its physical and organoleptic qualities.

FAQs

Do you still have any doubts? Here you will find all the answers you need.

Is there a sterilizing filter cartridge?

Yes. In addition to the models proposed, upon request we can supply a 0.45 micron polyethersulfone cartridge model with an absolute filtration degree and therefore sterilizing.

How long is the average life of a polypropylene filter cartridge?

If, chosen correctly on the basis of the characteristics of the product from the filter, the average duration of each cartridge is approximately 2000 liters of filtered product.

How should I proceed to wash the polypropylene filter cartridges?

The polypropylene and glass fiber cartridges must be washed after each bottling. Immerse the cartridges in a solution of water at room temperature and 8‰ peracetic acid or water with citric acid or our hydrochloric-based detergent "Enolclean".

After leaving the solution to act for at least three hours, rinse with plenty of running water. Leave the cartridges to dry in an airy environment and never store them in bags or drawers or other closed places, to avoid the formation of mould.

The cartridges can be washed against the current, reversing the direction of the filter housing (tandem or tandem professional) and bottling the sanitizing solution. In this way the liquid passes through the cartridges in the opposite direction to the filtration one, and therefore most of the particles retained by the filtering net tend to detach and end up in the bottle.

Finally, it is good to know despite careful and frequent washing, the average life of a polypropylene cartridge is around 2500 liters of filtered product.

How should I proceed to wash the steel filter cartridges?
The stainless steel filter cartridges must be immersed in a solution of water at room temperature and alkaline detergent with a degreasing action for at least a couple of hours at the end of each bottling session. Subsequently they must be rinsed with abundant running water in order to eliminate the residues of the chemical agent used. Do not use acid detergents as they could oxidize the steel. Furthermore, as with the polypropylene and glass fiber cartridges, it is possible to carry out a counter-current washing, i.e. connect the filter holder in the opposite way to how it is normally used and let the sanitizing solution flow through the cartridges in the opposite direction to that of normal use. This allows you to eliminate the particles retained during filtration that end up in the bottle. Leave the cartridges to dry in a well-ventilated place and never store them in bags or closed rooms, to avoid the formation of mould. Do not use brushes or other tools that could damage the filter surface.
How long is the average life of a stainless steel cartridge
The stainless steel cartridges can be used forever, if washed correctly and the stainless steel mesh is not damaged
